Extremely technical, showing our form as a hollow case. I was shown this video by my Dad around a week ago and I was in awe at the special effects, how the connections between the background and placement of clothing aligned so well within the environment. Put a dancer in a warehouse, let them take there place. Then add the trick that makes her 'wide open'. You've now got a simple but detailed, rich piece of art.

Full of sexual signs, innuendos and saucy imagery. I first witnessed this video nearing the end of my second year of college, I instantly feel in love with the cinematography, I find it empowering.

A journey of two people. Different train of thoughts. A story of two people fixated together in their own little world (due to the colour co-ordinated outfits and the Overall for me it's a positive song showing that people can sadly part ways. At the start of a relationship we can become so fixated on ourselves as two, that we forget about our surrounding. We don't notice what anyone else is doing, it's like wearing rose tinted glasses. Just a matter of time until someone takes them off.

The discovery of Beyoncé's Visually Album has inspired me in many ways. 

After listening to one of her previous songs I decided to click on her vertified YouTube channel where her recent video automatically started playing, titled 'Yours And Mine'.  

What is 'Yours And Mine'?

"A retrospective short film celebrating the one-year anniversary of the self-titled visual album, BEYONCÉ"

I was intrigued by Beyoncé's ability to expose her vulnerable feelings and personal world through her music, a different form from me. 

 This video helped create my Final Major Project Brief, inspiring me to strive forward in expressing the world surrounding me.

"Beyoncé '​s songs are accompanied by non-linear short films that illustrate the musical concepts conceived during production. Its dark, intimate subject material includes feminist themes of sex, monogamous love and relationship issues, inspired by Beyoncé's desire to assert her full creative freedom."

That's what I want from art, to have control in what I want to say and how I say it. To not be labelled and restricted to one way of working. I want to be able to work for my ideas, exploring different ways that suit them best for production. Being able to aspire to an idea and visually see it come alive the way I hoped or more.

New Year "New Me"

Last night I created some new resolutions for me to tackle this year. One of them being more organised which could include keeping up to date on my blog. In other words it should.

 I enjoy writing on my blog, keeping a little diary of my thoughts, what I'm up to and what I've discovered. So why don't I do it more often? I could tell you I'm not a procrastinator but I would be lying. 

I don't like to rush the posts I create, I like to have time to sit down, relax and spill out my thoughts while linking pictures/flixels/videos and making sure the composition is correct.

Since deciding to borrow the Canon camera over the holidays, I've gathered a fair amount of videos and images considering Location Photography. As I just finished writing, I just remembered that I need to compare two photographers. I will get to that! Either today/tonight or tomorrow!

Every time I've had the opportunity to go out I took my bag, packed it with my fine liner and tin of pencils, my sketchbook for Drawing from Observation and the camera. Whether it would be a walk down the street or a trip up to Edinburgh or Glasgow. I'd be capturing moments whether it was in Spoons or sitting on the train.

I would love to purchase one of these camera's as it has benefitted my work immensely, whether through film, photography or flixels. There's nothing better than capturing a great piece of footage or taking a half decent photograph and looking forward to going home to edit and use within your work.

My brother Jamie and I ventured up to Glasgow on Saturday 27th. I haven't been up to Glasgow for about three years so I thought it would be a great opportunity to explore, create little pieces along the way and see The Glasgow School of Art building. As we were walking to the passport office I was clutching onto the camera around my neck. As I was walking along I was eyeing down the pavement thinking "I better not fall, I better not fall". About five minutes later I fell. I fell but my first reaction was to safe the camera (which is completely fine). It was the most pathetic fall but it was bloody sore. I ended up having to walk around with a bloody rip in my tights with a bloody knee, until I ended in the toilets of Nando's. 

It was my lovely little last trip (no pun intended) of 2014.
